Wow. What a Super Cool Toy.

I guess you get what you pay for.

Trevor got to choose one thing from Dollar Tree last week. It was one of those little things that you put in water and it's supposed to grow. I figured Trevor would get a kick out of dropping it in the water and watching it grow, so I pulled out the camera to catch it all. Here's what happened:

As you can see, nothing happened. I had expected it to grow right away, but I could practically hear crickets chirping as we waited. I went back inside and read the package again: "Will grow over the next several days when submersed in water." Well, wow!!! How fun for a child to have to wait more than 96 hours to see any change!

It gets better. As you can see, after 7 days it had doubled in size. But by then it was so water-logged that Trevor had it in his hand for 30 seconds before the head fell off!!!

Trevor tried to fix it...

...and then resigned himself to the fact that there was no fixing his little friend.

Cool toy, Dollar Tree! :)

Aila's Party!

We had a somewhat impromptu party on Aila's actual birthday. The Kehlers, Kibbes, Kaisers, Torberts, Villegas' and Maddens joined us as we celebrated. When it was cake time, Aila was a little tentative, and then proceeded to "massage" the cake. Once it was sufficiently crumbled into a million pieces, then she ate it!

Happy Birthday, Aila Grace!

Our little Aila is one! :) I took this picture today at 12:34 (the time of her birth a year ago today).

The rest of the pictures are just to journey back over the last 12 months, plus some stats about Aila at age one.

Favorite things: Dogs, playing with water, dancing, being silly.

Least favorite things: Going into her carseat, taking naps.

Favorite foods: All and any!

Words: Mama, Dada, dog, cat ("ta!"), hot, up, ball, duck, banana ("nana")

What I love most about her: Her sweet smile and her precious heart.

My prayer for Aila: I pray that people will see Jesus in her throughout her life! I pray that she will be pure, wise, and loving.

Spaghetti!

BEFORE...

DURING...

AFTER!!!

The Children's Museum (again)!

Since we were already right next door at the Georgia Aquarium and we have the membership at Imagine-It! (thanks, Mimi & Papa!), we walked a few steps down and continued our Inauguration Day celebration at the children's museum. As you can see, Aila loved painting again. Thank goodness that stuff is non-toxic...

Big shocker, Trevor loved the huge train tables...

and the moon sand tables (He's saying "Ta-daaa!" in the sand picture)!

The kids put on some tap shoes and tapped away with some other kids.

They had so much fun!

The kids had fun playing in the big castle, dressed as royalty.

Then it was music time.

Play that funky music!
