Aila's Animals

Here's a blog entry only a grandparent could love...Aila doing a few of her animal words/signs/sounds. Enjoy some videos!

DOG:

BUNNY: She makes her hand jump up and down.

BIRD: She says "Boo! Boo! Boo!" for bird. * On a side note, sometimes I'll whistle at Aila and say, "You look pretty!" and she'll reach up and stroke her hair and smile. When we visited Grandmother this weekend, there was a bird there in the hall. Aila loved it and said, "Boo! Boo!" But my favorite part was that when the bird whistled, Aila reached up, stroked her hair, and smiled! Haha...

DUCK:

FISH: She signs "fish."

ELEPHANT: She raises her hand like a trunk and "trumpets."

HORSE: She pretends to ride a horse and sometimes yells "Yeehaw!"

Yeehaw (Funny!!) -- Fun With RAWHIDE

Here are videos of each of the kids saying "Yeehaw!" You have to wait a few seconds for Aila's, but it's worth it! :)

RAWHIDE the Horse was Justin's when he was a little boy. Pop & Essie brought him down from Boston for Trevor and Aila, and they're having so much fun!

Fish Food

I wanted to introduce fish to the kids' diets, but I wasn't sure if it would go over well. So I made a fish out of pie crust and stuffed it with tuna and cheddar. Trevor helped make the eye for the fish, and helped seal the edges with a fork. Even with the burnt tail, they LOVED it. They couldn't get enough! I guess it's all in the presentation.

Sick Visits, Well Visits

First of all...2 kids, 3 months, SEVEN ear infections, way too many dollars in copays!

On a bright note, Aila had her 12-month well visit today.

Weight: 14 pounds, 6 ounces (Dr. McGee pointed out this is the weight of an average 5-month old).

Height: 26 inches (the average height of a 7-month old).

* On a side note, at Mount Paran today one of the teachers said, "She is beautiful! So, is she about 4 months?" Um, no. Not since last May.

And so we continue on with the PediaSure and feed her as much as we can...

...and maybe I should tone down on all those workouts I'm making her do. Perhaps an hour each day of free weights, stairmaster and "Hip Hop Abs" is proving to be a bit too much for her. :)
