When a Well Visit Does NOT Go Well

Yep, this picture says it all.
It started out fine--poor little guy was pretty unassuming as he waited to see Dr. McGee.

He got checked out--turns out he is TALL for his age (say what?!?)--the height of an almost 5-year old, they said! But he's still 10th percentile for weight.

Ms. Shayla (who we love) did the height, weight...

...and VACCINATIONS! Four shots, plus a nasal flu-mist (seasonal, not swine). That alone would've been plenty. Turns out he had a little abdominal/digestive "situation" that needed to be "remedied," which alone would've been plenty for poor Trev. But all together, it was NOT a fun doc visit!
But at the end of the day, we're grateful he is healthy and growing. :)

Halloween 2009

We spent Halloween evening at the Kaiser home. So much fun! It was drizzling/raining/overcast at various points of our trick-or-treating time, but it was still a really wonderful time!

Aila was a fairy princess (and probably will be again next year since I'm sure it will fit her in a year), and Trevor was a robot.

We Got a Dog

This is Jack. This is the picture that accompanied the online post about our new little doggy. I loved that his tail is blurry--he truly is the happiest little dog.

Here are the kids on the drive home from getting Jack...

Didn't take long for Jack & Trevor to become buddies...

We take Jack to the dog park, which he LOVES. He just runs and runs and runs!

I won't lie, after losing Sadie suddenly last Christmas and then seeing "Marley and Me" (which nearly scarred me for life) I was NOT open to the discussion of getting another dog. Wounds still too tender. But then when our cars were broken into, I was open to the possibility.

And here he is!

And you know how parents will use a child's full name when they're naughty? Trevor just uses his full breed. "Jack Russell Terrier!"

And for those of you who knew our previous "escape artist" doggies (Dave especially), Jack will run out into the backyard unleashed, do his business, and run back in. It is a beautiful thing!

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY, JACK!
